Haute Couture in Rome with an Architecture-designer

Sabrina Persechino is a young architect. Her knowledge in proportions makes her a good designer. She presented during Alta Roma fashion week her new Haute Couture collection. She called it " Haute Concrete" because She took inspiration from three archistars: Renzo Piano, Jean Nouvel and Zaha Hadid. " Fashion is an art made of fabrics, textures, materials, cuts and skilled manufacturing that generate emotions. I design a garment as I would do with a building : plans, sections, elevations, proportions, light and shadows that wrap the human figure"declared Persechino. The fashion show took place at the Maxxi, the new museum of contemporary art made by Zaha Hadid. Her atelier is in via dei Magazzini Generali 20A. You can visit it with www.grandtourshopping.com

Yesterday, during the Alta Roma fashion week, G-Star, the hip and cool jeans brand, officially opened its new flagship store in Via del Tritone 176/180.  G-Star, known for its innovative and contemporary denim, organized a special evening in the store, attended by many young celebrities from the worlds of music, film and art. The opening ceremony featured a theatrical denim curtain drop, a champagne crusher operated by the actor, Alessandro Roja and a welcome speech by G-Star’s very own Head Womenswear Designer, Rebekka Bach.

The store presented G-Star’s new retail concept with 200 square meters with five windows directly on Rome’s historic Via del Tritone, the store’s interiors are a blend of powdered white concrete and light oak floors, steel fixtures and minimal colours which bring out the clean minimal lines of G-Star’s Spring/Summer collection now on sale.
