After opening the store in piazza di Spagna that grand tour shopping covered few monthes ago, Peter Dundas, the norwegian designer of Emilio Pucci, presents his collection in Milano during the fashion week. In the morning, at the press conference, he said that the the Pucci girl is in search of savage chic. For example he worked on Navajo knitwear for ponchos and on wonderful Appaloosa patterns for boots and bags. The elegant part is still there with traditional Pucci patterns that Dundas peaks from the archive in Florence.
Marni and the colour of Italy with a touch of Germany
Consuelo Castiglioni, the designer of Marni surprises us during the Milan Fashion week. Her collection is modern and totally unexpected. What looks heavy is airy, embroideries on jacquard seems light. Neoprene is used for dresses, everything has big volumes, furs are geometric composition with a touch of contemporary art. Consuelo took inspiration from the german artist Magnus Plessen whose style consists in adding and removing sections of paint to define shapes. We will soon see this colourful collection in the roman shop of via Bocca di Leone 8. One of my favourite in town.
A great solution for shopping in Rome: Sportmax
Sportmax new collection will be sold in Rome next season in the via Condotti store. The press release from the Milan fashionshow explains, a little pretentiously, that the inspiration comes from Jackson Pollock's works of art. Especially in terms of colours. Each piece is shaped on a feminine silhouette. Balanced and proportioned. Coats are embroidered with multicoloured mohair threads, brushed and teased. Have a look also at the cinched leopard trench trimmed with black python armlets. We are ready for shopping!
