Few days ago, a friend of mine Angelica, called me from Milan. She wanted me to discover a fresh and talented jewelry designer : Nathalie Jean. Originally from Canada, She is an architect and, as it often happened, this kind of background can open different professional opportunities. Gianfranco Ferré was an architect. If we focus on jewelry, the archistar Frank Gehry designed for Tiffany. Coming back to my discover, Nathalie Jean lives in Milan. She designed for a lot of brands such as Versace, Montblanc, Christofle, Damiani group and Swarovski. In Milan She opened her boutique in via Solferino 48 a. Lozza and custom-made glasses
Last week I had the opportunity to meet Michele Aracri, managing director of De Rigo Vision, one of the top italian factory for glasses in the world. They are now launching with Lozza (the oldest brand in Italy established in 1878 and acquired by De Rigo in 1992) a new project : custom made glasses where you can choose almost everything: size, colour, shapes,. They can be done in ten days at a reasonable price: 300 euros. In Rome the service will be available in Ottica de Bon, in piazza Sallustio 3. If you are not in Rome you can contact www.derigovision.com
Jean-Paul Gaultier, the nicest one.
One of the easiest designer to interview, by far, is Jean-Paul Gaultier. When I am in Paris during the fashion week, I wait backstage, after the show, and he always talks to me explaining the collection. I always use his quotes, he never said something stupid. His ideas are clear, he always has an inspiration that can be extremely pop or extremely cultural. It depends. Monsieur Gaultier is very international: he talks english, japanese, spanish, italian which is not exactly "typical french". Here below his new 2015 Spring Summer pre-collection.
