If you ask me the name of a new upcoming designer, I will tell you Gianluca Cappannolo. I discovered him, by chance, taking for an exclusive shopping tour, a lady from California few monthes ago. We went to Degli Effetti, a great boutique near the Pantheon where you can find the new talents of the italian fashion. Born in L'Aquila, Capannolo studied at Accademia Koefia and then worked for Lancetti, Fratelli Rossetti, Krizia among others. His fall winter collection 2016-2017, took inspiration from George Cukor movie "The Women" (1939). This elegant kind of fashion is geometric, very dressed up, with precious fabrics. The palette goes from khaki to red and pink with black, white and brown.
ANGELO MARANI, A DESIGNER TO WATCH CAREFULLY
Angelo Marani always shows his collection during Milano Fashion Week. He is a bright italian entrepreneur that I interviewed few years ago. His spring-summer collection is very fresh and inspired to Sardenia. I love the flower dresses, romantic and feminine. He made them in chiffon and silk. The flowers are hand painted, the embroideries are nice and precious.
PERSONAL SHOPPER THE MOVIE
Calling a movie"Personal Shopper" can be a positive thing because the word become viral. That is more or less my feeling after the boos but also the applauses at the Première of Olivier Assayas new movie "Personal Shopper". It is the story of Maureen (Kirsten Stewart), a 27 american girl who is working in Paris as a personal shopper for a European celebrity. She goes to fashion houses picking up outfits for the actress. Maureen is not happy, She waits for her twin Lewis. Her brother died recently and the hole story is about medium and ghosts. For the red carpet Stewart looked like a Swan in Chanel, in the cast also Riley Keough in a green dress from Louis Vuitton.
