Shopping in Rome in August

This year in August, shopping in Rome will be different because lots of boutiques and department stores will be open. Some of them will close only for few days around the 15th , the rest, especially around via del Corso, will keep their door open. Same idea in via Frattina and via Borgognona. Even, around piazza Navona, some boutiques will not shut down such as Josephine de Huertas and Co in via del Governo Vecchio. Josephine already shows in her boutique the new autumn-winter collection with a lot of pieces from Paul Smith that I love. Here, as an example, I was there with the fashion editor from TG1 RAI, Barbara Modesti (in the picture below). She bought some summer sales but had a glance also to the new upcoming season.

Shopping in July searching for Sales in Rome

The best thing to do if you are in Rome in July is to go shopping. First of all there is air conditioning everywhere. Especially if you go to Zara and H&M in via del Corso, you can spend hours there in excellent climate conditions without spending too much money. July is a great month because you also start to see the new autumn collections. One good example is Max Mara in via Condotti where you can search for jackets and pants. The colours of the next season are quite easy: blue navy and black.

THE FASHION WEEK IN ROME

The most interesting part of the Fashion week in Rome (in fact only few days) is the Fashion competition Who's on Next ? It started 12 years ago and was invented by Franca Sozzani, the glorious Fashion Editor of Vogue Italia. Here I am with two good friends of mine: Anna Maria Greco, journalist for Il Giornale and Bianca Lami who works for the Koefia Academy, one of the most presigious fashion schoolin Rome.We were waiting for the winners. This year it was Nicola Brognano. He used to work for Giambattista Valli and Dolce & Gabbana. In my next post I will present it to you. Ciao
