The match making between Valentine and shopping, in Italy, is relatively new. About ten years. A lot of brands are sending to www.grandtourshopping.com their press releases and pictures. Among them I love the MIU MIU LOVE COLLECTION. Clutches, purses in pink and red with chains and cristals. The bijoux line is nice and romantic too. I will definitly go to the two Miu Miu boutiques in Rome ( one is in via Condotti 35A and the other one in via del Babuino 91 ) and not only 14th of February for Valentine's Day.
SALES IN ROME : A GREAT WALK OF SHOPPING iN THE CENTER
A good reason for visiting Rome in January and February is shopping. The italian sales are very interesting because you can get good quality at reasonable prices. It is always better to focus on good brands and classical items to be sure to wear them again next winter. The streets for shopping are via Frattina, via di Campo Marzio e via Borgognona. Especially for shoes and coats. I suggest also to go to Gente, the best boutique in Rome, in via del Babuino.
GOOD TIPS FOR SHOPPING SALES IN ROME
In Rome, the official date for the sales season was yesterday, the 5th of January. Actually things were moving before. The funny thing is that they don't call them "Sales" but "Promotions" which means exactly the same. I took a group of three Australian ladies the 2nd of January and we had great opportunities especially for bags in Vicolo Savelli and in different boutiques in via del Governo Vecchio. Yesterday I accidentally passed through Via del Corso, extremely crowded. Too crowded. For Shopping mornings are generally better than afternoon. I also suggest to look for sales on classic items, things that you can keep for few years. Plus better to have a glance in the high standard boutiques and try to purchase items from famous brands : it is the only way to re-sell them later on Ebay, on consignment stores or at the flea market.
