A great spot is the Hedy Martinelli jewelry boutique, in via Fontanella Borghese 62, in the center of Rome. They create unique pieces made with unconventional material, such as steel or iron. Often combined with precious stones. The jewels are made by hand. Below you can see a couple of rings made of a dark silver net with diamonds. In the other picture wonderful earrings in white gold with reversed diamonds. This creations are extremely modern and, in a way, avantgarde.
Remembering Fausto Sarli
Fausto Sarli was one of the best couturier in Rome. He passed away in 2010. Originally from Naples he had clients in United States, Japan, Middle East and Canada. The Napolitan museum of fabrics, Fondazione Mondragone, is now showing until the 15th of June, fifty dresses from the Maestro. The Museum is in piazzetta Mondragone 18. About one hour by train from Rome. The purpose of this lovely couture exhibition is not only to remember his work but also to promote artisan and tailoring to the young generation. In Rome the atelier is still working and it is in via Gregoriana 41. In the picture the famous model Mariacarla Boscono, a muse of Fausto Sarli who dressed Mina, Carla Fracci, Valeria Mazza and many others.
IN ROME FOOTBALL AND SHOPPING
Tonight, 15th of May, in the A.Testoni Boutique in via Condotti 80, the coach of the football team S.S. Lazio, Edy Reja, will be the special guest. I am a support of A.S. Roma but it doesn't matter! The occasion is the launch of the new City Running, a great sneaker made of leather and technological material. A. Testoni is a brand from Bologna, established in 1929. They have 70 flagshipstores around the world. Definilty a piece of Made in Italy to be proud of.
