I went to Milano Fashion week to prepare my shopping strategies that I will develop in Rome. I need to see where fashion is going. I was quite bored (the season is not very exciting) but I saw some new designers and I will organize the shopping tours, partially, on their work. One good example is Vivetta with her romantic dresses. Her universe is based on children novels such as Alice in Wonderland and Hansel e Gretel. I love the colours, the jackets, the jumpsuits.
ART AND SHOPPING IN ROME
Art and Shopping in Rome are linked. Last night I went to the Vernissage of Arvedo Arvedi, an italian pop artist from Verona. He is doing colourful paintings and lovely scarves in limited edition (in collaboration with Laboratorio Capri) but the accessories collection might grow in the future, His paintings, full of colour, had a great success. We were at the Galery ofthe Biblioteca Angelica in piazza di Sant'Agostino 9. The exhibition IMAGO MUNDIwill last the 12th of September.
Shopping in Rome in August
This year in August, shopping in Rome will be different because lots of boutiques and department stores will be open. Some of them will close only for few days around the 15th , the rest, especially around via del Corso, will keep their door open. Same idea in via Frattina and via Borgognona. Even, around piazza Navona, some boutiques will not shut down such as Josephine de Huertas and Co in via del Governo Vecchio. Josephine already shows in her boutique the new autumn-winter collection with a lot of pieces from Paul Smith that I love. Here, as an example, I was there with the fashion editor from TG1 RAI, Barbara Modesti (in the picture below). She bought some summer sales but had a glance also to the new upcoming season.
