This week A.S. ROMA made a miracle. They won against Barcelona and will be qualified for the semi-final of the Champions League. They will play on the 24th of April in Liverpool and then, again, in Rome the 2nd of May. This victory is a very good new not only for Roma supporters but for the city. During the cocktail party in via Frattina, Jean Eric Vergne, one of the pilot of Formula E and Francesco Totti made a dual on a virtual race. The competition is available in the store of Hugo Boss and everyone can go there and try it.

IN ROME AN EXCLUSIVE SHOPPING IN ROBERTO CAVALLI

In Rome the Roberto Cavalli boutique is located in via Borgognona 25. One of my favourite street for shopping.

Last night I went to a dinner party and the host, Georgie, an australian friend of mine, was wearing a wonderful Cavalli gown. She was superb. The Cavalli brand is now designed by Paul Surridge, and He will be the special guest in Florence for the Pitti Fair in June. The history of Cavalli started exactly from there and, few years ago, they even made a fashion show on the Ponte Vecchio.  I love to take my clients to explore this nice brand and, in Rome, the store is big enough to get an idea of it.

Roberto Cavalli shows in Milano, and, at the end of february,  they presented men and women together. The inspiration was very eighties with bright colours such as red and electric blue. Paul Surridge made also a big research on skins and on the animalier prints. That was a very cleaver move because clients from all over the world expect to see exactly that on the Roberto Cavalli catwalk.

Shoulders are curvy and the fabrics are very interesting : stretch wool, silk and denim with embroideries. The italian craftmanship is very important for the brand also on the bags and shoes. The jewels are inspired by the Renaissance especially from the Medici and the Borgia with a touch of english victorian style.

A GOOD TIP FOR SHOES SHOPPING IN ROME

Carmens is an italian shoes brand established in Veneto. In Rome their flagship store is in via del Corso 103.

Carmens is perfect for an intelligent and reasonable shopping on italian shoes in Rome. I love their style because it is cutting edge at reasonable price. The shoes and boots are generally for less than 200 euros. Often between 100 and 150 euros. For the summer they are proposing the Baby Jane that you are seeing below in different colours such as pale pink, gold and red.

Last Friday I went again to visit the store for my scouting for www.grandtourshopping.com. Next week I am going to have three young clients. One on Wednesday who is only 15 years old and two on Saturday ( 15 and 21 ) and I am sure that Carmens will be a great success because their models are very fresh. I saw also ankle boots in funny colours such as purple and strawberry. The hill is not too high so that you can use them as everyday shoes.

I discovered them last year because the marketing office contacted me one year ago when they opened the boutique. I was very happy even though I think that Via del Corso is not the perfect location for them. In the future, when the brand will be more famous, I will suggest to go in other streets such as via Frattina, one of the most important shoe street in Rome.
